Agreeing to these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Faceworld Studios, which operates Faceworld Instruments. By using this site or buying a product, you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

What you are buying

You are buying a licence to use software and digital assets — not ownership of the software itself. A purchase is one-time: you pay once and keep what you bought, including free updates within the major version you purchased.

Your licence is for one user — you, or the single company that bought it — and covers personal and commercial work alike, including paid client projects. Install it on the machines you personally use; studios should buy a seat per editor. You may not resell, share, sublicense, or redistribute the software, its files, presets, or licence keys. Updates and 'lifetime'

When we say updates are free for the version you bought, we mean for the supported lifetime of that product — not your lifetime, and not a promise to keep it running on every future system forever.

We release updates for the current version at our discretion, and we may eventually retire a product or stop updating it. A major new version may be a separate paid upgrade rather than a free update. We cannot guarantee any product will stay compatible with future versions of macOS, Apple silicon, or After Effects, though we work to keep them running for as long as it is practical.

What you may not do

• Resell, share, sublicense, rent, or repackage the files, presets, or licence keys.
• Publish or distribute the software itself, or bundle it into a product you distribute.
• Circumvent licence checks, or reverse engineer the software except where the law expressly allows it.
• Use the site to break the law, infringe someone's rights, or attack our systems.

What you make with it is yours

Output you create using our tools belongs to you, including for paid client work. We claim no rights over your footage or your finished edits.

Our intellectual property

The software, its underlying code, the Faceworld name and marks, and everything on this site belong to us or our licensors, and stay that way. Your licence lets you use the tools — it does not transfer any ownership of them to you.

Prices and payment

Prices are shown in US dollars and may change at any time; the price you see at checkout is the price you pay. Taxes may be added depending on where you are.

Checkout is handled by Shopify. Your payment details are processed by Shopify and its payment providers under their terms, and we never receive your full card number.

Delivery

Products are delivered digitally. Your download links and licence key are sent to the email address used at checkout, so please make sure it is correct — a typo is the most common reason an order appears not to arrive. Check your spam folder before contacting us.

System requirements

MOSH, GHOST, and GLAZE require an Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 14 or later. CRT STUDIO is a native After Effects plugin. Requirements are stated on each product page, and it is your responsibility to check them before buying — see our Refund Policy for how we handle machines that do not meet them.

Refunds

These are digital goods delivered immediately, so all sales are final and we do not offer refunds, except where the law where you live requires one. If a product won't install or won't run, contact us and we'll do our best to get it working on your machine. Our Refund Policy sets this out in full and forms part of these terms.

Beta and pre-release builds

Some products are offered as beta builds and are marked as such. Beta software may be unstable, may not yet be signed by Apple, and may change before final release. Back up your work and do not rely on a beta build for a deadline you cannot miss.

The software is provided as is

We work hard to make these tools reliable, but we cannot promise the site or the software will be uninterrupted, error free, or fit for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent the law allows, the products and the site are provided 'as is' without warranties of any kind.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — including lost footage, lost work, lost profit, or missed deadlines — arising from your use of the site or the products. Where we are found liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the product concerned.

Some places do not allow these limits, in which case they apply only as far as local law permits, and your mandatory consumer rights are unaffected.

Third-party services

The site relies on third parties including Shopify for commerce and Vercel for hosting, and uses the Meta Pixel for advertising measurement. Their handling of your information is covered in our Privacy Policy.

Ending access

We may suspend access if these terms are seriously or repeatedly broken — for example, redistributing our software. If we end your access for reasons unrelated to your conduct, we'll give you reasonable notice so you can keep a copy of what you already bought.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows the current version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here removes consumer protections you are entitled to where you live.
